About Bougainvillea spectabilis…
It’s not the first time I come across this flowering shrub, but it’s certainly the first time I felt impelled to do some research on the subject. It seems that its name comes after a French Admiral, called Louis Antoine de Bougainvillea who discovered these amazing violet things on a journey to Brazil in 1768.
